Youth Training & Capacity Building
We empower young people with practical skills in herbal medicine preparation and forest conservation. Through hands-on training, youth learn sustainable harvesting, seedling nurturing, and indigenous knowledge preservation, building livelihoods while nurturing a new generation of conservation champions committed to protecting Kaya forests and their communities.
Medicinal Tree Nurseries
We have established medicinal tree nurseries to sustainably grow indigenous plants used in traditional healing. These nurseries protect Kaya forests by reducing wild harvesting, preserve ancestral herbal knowledge, and ensure reliable supplies of medicinal roots, bark, and leaves that support community health, livelihoods, and long-term environmental conservation efforts locally
Forest Protection & Conservation
Ufanisi Conservation Group works to protect the Arabuko Sokoke Forest through indigenous tree planting, community awareness, and local conservation patrols. By engaging residents in forest stewardship, the group reduces deforestation, safeguards Kaya forest ecosystems, supports biodiversity, and promotes sustainable livelihoods that depend on conservation rather than forest destruction.
