“Without action, forests disappear. With your support, communities thrive.”

Indigenous Tree Conservation & Cultivation

Nurturing medicinal trees from seed to canopy

Through urgent conservation, medicinal tree nurseries, and propagation of indigenous species, we are protecting the Arabuko Sokoke Forest, restoring degraded ecosystems, and securing sustainable livelihoods rooted in traditional knowledge.

Herbal Medicine Production

Led by Mama Salome Juma

Ufanisi produces natural herbal medicines from sustainably grown indigenous trees, treating ailments such as hypertension, muscle aches and boils — while protecting Kaya forests through a trees-on-farm system that supports health, conservation, and climate resilience.

Youth Training & Capacity Building

A new generation of conservation champions

We empower young people with practical skills in herbal medicine preparation and forest conservation. Through hands-on training, youth learn sustainable harvesting, seedling nurturing, and indigenous knowledge preservation.

Plastic Recycling Training Programme

Turning waste into everyday tools

Hands-on sessions teach community members to reuse discarded plastic bottles to create functional items such as dustbins.

  • Reducing plastic pollution in the environment
  • Promoting creativity and innovation
  • Encouraging community responsibility
  • Providing practical, low-cost waste solutions
Forest Protection & Conservation

Stewardship over extraction

Through indigenous tree planting, community awareness, and local conservation patrols, Ufanisi reduces deforestation, safeguards Kaya forest ecosystems, and promotes sustainable livelihoods that depend on conservation rather than forest destruction.
